Mary McDonnell

 

Mary Eileen McDonnell was born on the 28th of April 1952. She is an American stage as well as film and television actress. She has received Academy Award nominations for her roles in Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and May-Alice Culhane in Passion Fish. McDonnell is best known for her role in Battlestar Galactica as President Laura Roslin as well as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore, and Rose in Donnie Darko. McDonnell was seen as Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's series The Closer. She also played in Major Crimes, the spin-off series on TNT's network, as Commander Sharon Raydor.
