Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix was a Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix showed a flair for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her initial attempt, she placed 2nd in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from her high school year in 2003 and was signed by Adidas an agreement as an athlete in professional competition. In the following year, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. One year later Felix was awarded her very first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting a junior world record by running 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. The youngest participant in the 200 meters in the world championships in Helsinki in 2005. She defended her title time and time again in 2007 beating her the long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at her first Olympics during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three of her races.
